Valentina was delivered around 2 a.m., between Route 121 and near Route 27 in the Germantown area, according to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer

MCFRS units responded to the scene, and the mother and newborn were taken to a hospital, Piringer stated.

According to a news release from Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, baby Valentina weighs 7 pounds, 15 ounces and is 21 inches tall. Almonte stated the baby’s name means “healthy and strong.”

According to Almonte’s statement in the release, the delivery was “very unexpected” and came just half an hour after she began experiencing signs that she may be in labor.

“God was very intentional in how he picked her to come,” Almonte stated.
