A construction worker became trapped and partially buried in a trench outside a Bethesda house before first responders rescued him on Monday afternoon, according to a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman.

The man was stuck for about 15 to 20 minutes before the rescue crew was able to dig him out, according to MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer. He was not injured and didn’t want to go to a hospital, Piringer said.

The incident occurred in the 5800 block of Wilmett Lane at about 3:30 p.m. The service’s technical rescue team got into the trench and used shovels to dig out the man.
