What was a major turning point in your life and/or career?

Going through my own divorce and discovering that there is a way to collaborate on a solution that works for everyone, without having to go to court. My first 10 years as a practicing attorney, all I did was litigate. The past 10 years, however, I’ve enjoyed shifting my focus to promoting alternate dispute resolution methods. When a commitment is made to settle outside of court, we have more room to be creative with our solutions without having to adhere to certain guidelines. We look at every piece of the puzzle and work together to find a resolution that satisfies all parties, is good for the family and preserves my client’s wealth. My personal experience also offers my clients comfort in knowing that although their present situation may be a very difficult time, it will get better.
