Q: How do you measure success?

A: Happy patients and a happy family. I have a wonderful husband and two daughters now in their early 20’s. It’s been so much fun for us, raising them and watching them grow. It’s rewarding to see them, now as young adults, making good decisions and going after their dreams. From a work perspective, nothing is better than seeing a patient’s smile at the end of the day. Or witnessing a patient’s newfound confidence when they come back for a follow-up.

Q: Why do you do what you do? What motivates and inspires you?

A: Sitting at home for two months during the pandemic gave me an even greater appreciation for what I do, and the opportunity I have to positively impact people’s lives. I will never take for granted that even a simple cosmetic procedure—whether surgical or non-surgical—can alleviate an issue that’s occupied someone’s thoughts for years, allowing them to move forward and focus on more important things in life. Those outcomes give me so much joy.

Q: How have you mentored or inspired others who are following in your footsteps?

A: Mentorship is so important. If you don’t have anyone in your family, or a close friend who is in the medical field, it can be somewhat daunting for a young aspiring doctor to navigate. I’ve enjoyed inviting a number of young women to my office through the years, to offer advice and help steer them in the right direction. Some have gone into medicine and some haven’t, but it’s been gratifying to watch their journeys.
