Jackie’s and 8407 Kitchen Bar

Dishes featuring fresh ingredients from local farms and top-notch service keep customers coming back to Jackie’s and 8407 Kitchen Bar, the two restaurants voted the best of Silver Spring by Bethesda Magazine readers.

Open nearly three years in the heart of downtown, 8407 Kitchen Bar prides itself on stellar service provided by a knowledgeable staff and a “chef-driven concept” that includes making everything on site, from “our charcuterie to our pasta,” general manager Nancy Hart says.

And Jackie’s, which celebrated its eighth anniversary in November, was revitalized by the arrival almost three years ago of Executive Chef Diana Davila-Boldin, who creates a new menu every three months. Last fall’s entrées ranged from an Ethiopian-inspired vegetable platter to cornmeal-fried tilapia with sweet potato turnovers. “You get both a great meal and great service,” General Manager Ryan Furr says. “I definitely feel we’re the No. 1 neighborhood restaurant for people around here.”
