A In 2007, I founded the conservatory with a vision for preparing students for 21st-century careers in dance. Our program produces professional dancers of world-class caliber. Alumni are performing with companies including The Washington Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Hispanico and Staatsballett Berlin. Q If you could go back and give advice to yourself as a young professional, what would you say?
A As a woman especially, you have to put yourself out there and take up space, unapologetically. Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. Find them, create them, and then make more for others with the same fire in their belly. —Rachel DiLeo
