Q What should your patients know about you?
A I believe in realistic expectations and natural-looking results. My extensive experience has shown me what works, and I always offer my honest opinions. I will never perform a procedure or surgery that is not in their best interest.
I listen as they guide the conversation about their concerns and goals. As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon with 25 years of experience, I do a full assessment of their facial anatomy. I make sure they understand all their treatment options from skin care to surgery and everything in between.
Q What are some new and effective strategies in cosmetic surgery?
A I appreciate having so many options. One is Nanofat, a procedure that harvests fat from your body. After filtering, we can inject it into the face. Another is Daxxify, a new longer lasting botulinum toxin that provides a natural look with more movement. We also use platelet rich plasma to stimulate hair growth.
Q What would you say is one procedure you are most known for?
A Based upon travel distance, it’s definitely rhinoplasty. Patients from all across the country and overseas are drawn to me. I like to think the reason is my very natural looking results.
Q Outside of your own practice, what brings you professional satisfaction?
A Being on the board of directors for American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. As a leader in our specialty, I hope I encourage the next generation of women, especially women of color, to pursue their dreams of becoming a surgeon.
