McLean School of Maryland
Jeannette O’Connor of Silver Spring says the McLean School has proved to be the perfect fit for her 11-year-old son, Michael, who deals with attention deficit disorder and memory issues.
“McLean had everything we were looking for,” O’Connor says of the 59-year-old private school, which serves 360 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. “It has teachers who understand how to work with kids. They’re good at knowing what they can and can’t take on.”
At McLean, students have access to a team of professionals—learning and reading specialists, counselors, speech and language pathologists and academic coaches—who work together to ensure their success, Head of School Darlene Pierro says.
“Our teachers have the training to work within the classroom structure to make our curriculum accessible to students with diverse learning styles and different learning needs,” she says.
Annual tuition runs from $28,095 to $33,950.
