Founding Farmers of Montgomery County
Everything about Founding Farmers is big—the portion sizes, the scope of the menu, the seating capacity and the crowds it has attracted since opening in November 2011.
Like its phenomenally popular downtown D.C. sibling, the Potomac location features comfort food such as fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs and chicken pot pie, plus a fabulous drinks menu with house-made sodas, seasonal craft beers and imaginative cocktails.
Managed by the D.C.-based Farmers Restaurant Group and owned by a group of private investors, including the North Dakota Farmers Union and other farm organizations, Potomac’s Founding Farmers is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, and has served more than 200,000 diners in its first year of operation.
It’s been a terrific start, even if little sister has a bit of catching up to do. The downtown location has been the most-booked restaurant in the country on OpenTable for the last two years.
