Best Place to Take Interval Training to the Next Level

PULSE Fitness

Almost every class at PULSE Fitness, a boutique gym started by local trainer Lisa Platnik in 2012, moves throughout the gym, bouncing from the Pilates studio to weight machines to the group exercise room. The “Triple Threat” class incorporates short bursts (about a minute each) of five different exercises: rowing, running on a treadmill, cycling, core exercises with suspension straps, and Pilates using a machine called a jump board. The changes in scenery make the hour-long workout fly by, and the short intervals make even an all-out sprint feel doable. $20 per class for nonmembers.
