Equinox Bethesda
Ever heard of a WOODWAY treadmill? How about a ViPR? The former, a low-impact treadmill costing $15,000 (four times the price of a normal treadmill), and the latter, a sort of log-shaped kettlebell, are two of many examples of the innovative, impeccably maintained equipment at the Bethesda outpost of this national chain.
The gym’s locker rooms are just as tony: Between the Kiehl’s bath goodies, Egyptian cotton towels and salon-strength hair dryers, many members say they would rather shower at the gym than at home.
Cost is $138 for an individual membership with a $525 initiation fee (frequent promotions offer lower initiation fees).
