Baklava Couture
If you’re lucky enough to arrive at Baklava Couture when the homemade pita comes hot out of the oven, it probably won’t last the car ride home. But the smooth, puffy rounds are only one reason to check out Katerina Georgallas’ new brick-and-mortar bakery, which opened in Kensington in October. The former Silver Spring interior designer, who started selling her not-too-sweet Greek goodies at area farmers markets (and still does), turns out beautifully handcrafted baklava, cookies, cakes and breads that taste as good as they look.
