Julia Farr
“Dresses are the thing at Julia Farr,” says the woman who should know. Julia Farr opened her boutique in 2010, and though she carries trousers and denim, Farr says many of her clients come looking for a dress—whether for work, cocktails or other events.
Farr’s elegant boutique has luxurious dressing rooms and a large three-way mirror, where Farr uses her keen stylist’s eye to help with fit and tailoring. And she’ll not only get you ready for a cocktail party, she’ll come to your home and revamp your entire closet.
Designers include Catherine Malandrino, Rachel Roy, Adam by Adam Lippes, Halston Heritage and Susana Monaco. This spring, Farr also will be launching her own label, starting with the classic sheath.
The red power dress pictured here is by Amy Matto ($285) and has enough feminine touches—wide neckline, sexy twist in the front—to go from the office to a cocktail party. It also comes with three-quarter-length sleeves.
