Merrick Towle Creative seeks a Senior WordPress Developer (full stack) who understands the entire web development process and has a passion for making things work. Much of what you’d do


  • Guide sensible IA and influence wire framing and design in alignment with best-practices and project objectives
  • Collaborate toward inventive and effective responsive layouts and turn into custom working themes
  • Clearly and preemptively communicate ideas, challenges and workarounds pertaining to the design to development transition
  • Ensure product performance and availability while managing all technical aspects of WordPress CMSs
  • Stay abreast of new security threats and procedures to safeguard products and mitigate risk
  • Organize, track and execute multiple assignments simultaneously, with poise and confidence
  • Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure goals and quality standards are met


Much of what you’d bring your first day


  • Understanding of trends, best-practices and content management systems
  • Command over front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layouts into functional HTML pages
  • Expertise building responsive UIs for websites and web applications
  • Understanding of CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure cross-platform and cross-browser consistency
  • Understanding of PHP back-end development and MySQL
  • Well versed with Linux servers (SSH, SMTP, OS structure, troubleshooting, security)
  • Ability to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
  • Experience with debugging tools such as Firebug and Chrome Inspector
  • Understanding of accessibility concepts and regulations such as WCAG and Section 508/ADA compliance
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools
