We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Sr. Print Production Manager to join our team in Bethesda, MD. We are an exciting and fast-growing print management firm that offers full-service print production solutions to our clients.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Work on-site at the assigned customer to deliver a range of printed materials, including commercial print, POS/POP, inserts, and direct mail. The Production Manager (PM) works closely with the Account Manager (AM) to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, including outsourcing, coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects per the project schedule, on budget and within quality control standards. The PM establishes a strong relationship with the client and the client’s team.

 

  • Work with a select supplier pool to procure the most cost-effective solution for various high-end marketing print projects
  • Provide technical input and advice on all projects
  • Drive innovation and value engineering
  • Ensure timely delivery, to specification, and to quality and contractual targets
  • Gather accurate information from Client and formulate full production briefs
  • Provide detailed print specifications to suppliers
  • Maintain detailed job history information
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers
  • Ability to build client relationships and develop new business
  • Implement and utilize management information systems
  • Track and analyze benchmarking information, communicated monthly to the Production and Account Managers

 

E-Procurement/Finance:

  • Work with the client and team members to coordinate print production schedules, print specifications, quotations and billing. Initiate requests for bids, customer quotations, and supplier purchase orders.
  • Work with a wide variety of the commercial print production applications, execute detailed data analysis and track and report results.
  • Work within a production team while interfacing with our client’s marketing staff to understand production requirements. Develop innovative print formats, production schedules and mail entry solutions.
  • Interface with our proprietary print management software to prepare requests for bid, assign jobs and track/report results.
  • Verify and process invoices according to established guidelines to ensure all charges are accurate and authorized.
  • Ability to close out month end responsibilities.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Work with the client and team members to coordinate schedules, quotations and billing. Initiate requests for bids, customer quotations, and supplier purchase orders.
  • Negotiate the best possible pricing and schedules as required to execute individual projects, and ensure that the end result exceeds the client’s expectations.
  • Work with a wide variety of sign manufacturing materials, execute detailed data analysis and track and report results.
  • Work within a production team while interfacing with our client’s marketing staff to understand production requirements.
  • Analyze print specifications to ensure that all job requirements, quality expectations, artwork availability and delivery dates are clearly identified and achieved.
  • Interface with our proprietary print management software to prepare requests for bid, assign jobs and track/report results.
  • Managing all aspects of production with suppliers. Work with suppliers on delivery timetables and maintain a current status of assigned projects at all times.
  • Verify and process invoices according to established guidelines to ensure all charges are accurate and authorized.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years previous experience in a marketing print and retail POS/Commerical Print and direct mail environment.
  • Committed, independent, service minded with proven client management skills.
  • Scheduling, maintaining deadlines, and communicating any issues that would prevent delivering on schedule.
  • Comfortable working with complex worksheets and distros containing critical production details. (MS Excel and Numbers competency needed).
  • Ensuring that project costs are properly estimated, that a budget is maintained, and communicating any obstacles that would require additional funding. Working closely with PPMs to ensure proper reconciliation of all spending/invoices.
  • Focus on project management, timely delivery and achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment where priorities are constantly changing.
