What You’ll Do Here

  • Support all product development and marketing team needs related to Nat Geo and its network of explorer and photographer talent, ensuring compliance with NGL’s contractual obligations and competitive strategy. This work includes rights clearance, talent coordination, contracting, media file delivery, logging/tracking data, providing training, and other ad hoc administrative support.
  • Maximize NGL’s partnership with National Geographic and its talent community by building relationships, workflows, and resources that create goodwill and support business objectives. This work includes media acquisition, media management, and proactive communication about new opportunities with talent and content.
  • Lead or support special projects for Operations/management and complete other duties as assigned, typically but not always aligned with one of the open focus areas below.

Focus: Admin and Events


  • Drive NGL’s participation in major Nat Geo events, ensure smooth execution of NGL’s events with talent, and coordinate itineraries for key partner visits to our Washington, D.C. office.
  • Serve as primary owner of Operations documentation; update, organize, and distribute documentation in coordination with Operations team members and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Contribute to new media ingestion, accurate and detailed asset cataloguing, and periodic metrics and reporting.
  • Route branding approvals, manage inventory and subscription needs, perform odds-and-ends invoicing, monitor shared inboxes, and complete other miscellaneous administrative and events-related tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for workflows, training, and documentation related to this focus area.

Focus: Systems & Workflows

  • Help Operations team and broader business ensure tools, systems, training, and workflows all cohere to enable fast and effective product development and marketing.
  • Support or lead projects related to business system and process research and development, implementation, documentation, training, maintenance, etc.
  • Act as lead Coordinator and consultant on any workflow or system projects or troubleshooting that may be initiated by Nat Geo or other preferred content partners.
  • Responsible for workflows, training, and documentation related to this focus area.

Skills You Will Need Here

  • A Bachelor’s degree and minimum 1 year of relevant work experience are strongly preferred for all focus areas.
  • The strongest candidates will be superior communicators who can build productive relationships and adapt to changing priorities with a positive and creative mindset.
  • We are looking for candidates who will not shy away from ambiguity and nuance and will have a genuine enthusiasm for getting the details right in complex situations.
  • All applicants must have a readiness to participate in occasional meetings or events outside regular hours, an ability to travel (5%), and must be comfortable working from multiple office locations in D.C.
