Ridgewells Catering is seeking three (3) long-term interns to support our Major Events team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain professional experience in the hospitality and sports industry, working on large-scale catering and concessions operations at major golf championships.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • You will work as part of our team to service our contract with the United States Golf Association
  • You will have administrative duties as well as leadership opportunities at your assigned championship(s); our work environment is fast-paced and ever-changing
  • You will work with all departments within the Major Events division (sales, culinary, purchasing, operations and staffing)
  • You will work 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday; however, hours may increase as we get closer and weekend work will be required during the championship

 INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES

  • Gain valuable, hands-on work experience: in an office setting and on course at your assigned championship(s) with a diverse team of professionals
  • Explore career interests and paths: major events, project management, event logistics, client relations, staff management, vendor operations
  • Develop and refine professional skills
  • Network with industry professionals

INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hospitality Intern– support the sales team with all sales related functions; work directly with corporate clients; manage staff; se-up/breakdown of service areas
  • Staffing & Recruiting Intern– support the Purple Tie team with all staffing and recruiting functions; facilitate recruiting, orientation and training sessions; manage all hiring and payroll paperwork and enrollment; work directly with all hired event staff
  • Operations Intern– support the operations and concessions teams with all operations functions; work directly with vendors to plan and coordinate logistics; set-up/breakdown of service areas; track inventory and manage distribution of beverage, equipment and supplies

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal for college students and recent graduates with a degree inBusiness Administration, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field; exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work on multiple projects at once; strong communication skills; team player with an outgoing, helpful personality, and positive, can-do attitude; proficient use of MS Office (specifically MS Excel) with the ability to learn new computer programs quickly; ability to travel, including up to 30+ consecutive days in May and June.
