The Symphony of the Potomac (symphonypotomac.org) is a community-based, primarily volunteer orchestra under the direction of Joel Lazar. The orchestra provides Montgomery County and the Greater Washington area with the opportunity to enjoy symphonic music at a reasonable price.

What a donation buys:
- $100 underwrites concert tickets for 10 residents from a local senior living center.
- $500 underwrites participation fees for five student members of the orchestra.
- $1,000 underwrites a morning of educational concerts in a Montgomery County elementary school participating in the Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) program.
Volunteer opportunities:
- One day: Serve as an usher or will call desk attendant at a concert.
