Gandhi Brigade

 

Gandhi Brigade Youth Media (gandhibrigade.org) is a community media organization that trains teens to explore issues of identity, community and social justice using video, photography and graphic design. The free programs prepare participants, mostly minority or immigrant youths, to become community leaders. Participants are trained and certified in various media.

What a donation buys:

  • $125 buys a camera for students to learn and use.
  • $250 provides a work stipend for low-income participants.
  • $1,000 purchases a computer for students to attain digital media and coding skills.

Volunteer opportunities:

  • One day: Speak as an issue advocate to students about important ideas and causes.
  • Weekly: Media professionals can participate in programs to teach video production and share their knowledge.
