George B. Thomas Sr. Learning Academy
George B. Thomas Sr. Learning Academy supports more than 3,000 struggling students in Montgomery County Public Schools through the Saturday School programs.
With 12 centers in areas with high poverty, the school works to ensure that the most academically at-risk students can access grade-appropriate, low-cost academic tutoring and mentoring services. The Learning Academy also offers parent workshops in English and Spanish.

What a donation buys:
• $250 underwrites the cost of Saturday School for one student for one semester.
• $1,000 supports the salary of tutors who assist high school students seeking to graduate on time.
• $10,000 helps to pay for closing ceremonies at the 12 centers.
Volunteer opportunities:
• One day: Share experiences in your professional life with students during the mentoring session.
• Weekly: Volunteer in a classroom, working with a certified teacher.
