Just in time for Valentine’s Day, learn about chocolate making in the American colonies and get hands-on with 18th century techniques! This presentation and workshop with A Taste of History with Joyce White will explore different types of cacao and the history of chocolate processing from the pre-industrial days to the modern-day.

Maryland was one of the only colonies south of the Mason-Dixon line to be home to a chocolate maker in the 18th century. Find out where he worked and more interesting chocolate facts to make you a true chocolate connoisseur.

Try your hand at cacao grinding and, of course, enjoy a decadent guided tasting along the way!
