We’re excited to host renowned folk musician Michelle Lockey from 6pm – 9pm on Friday, March 6th in our cozy tasting room. Music is free and we’ll have Rocklands wine by the glass, flight, and bottle all night! Last call for open bottles and glasses is at 8:30pm.

Food Vendor: Balkanik Taste will be here from 5:30pm to 8pm serving traditional Balkan food.

About Michelle Lockey:
Michelle is a multi-award winning recording artist and performing singer-songwriter/producer from Maryland. She is also a three-time Washington Area Music Award Nominee. Michelle has 4 LP releases and she has many single releases including two singles released by Black Toast Records. (All Music available on ITunes). She performs at corporate events and venues such as Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, Signature Theatre, and in Concert series such as Focus Music and Stone Room Concerts, Festivals at Leesburg Flower Festival, Main Street Music Fest , Frederick, Maryland’s First Saturdays and more.

Michelle has become well respected in the industry of composing for Film and TV. One of her most notable accomplishments is winning the Grand Prize in the Folk
category of the 2014 John Lennon Song Contest for her song, “Your Footprints” written with fellow songwriter Paul Otten. Michelle was also a semi-finalist in the 2014 International Song Contest, a Silver Winner in the 2012 Songwriter’s Association of Washington contest and her International duo group, Blu Cedar, was a semi-finalist in the 2015 the Unsigned Only contest.

She gives back to the community by mentoring musicians, holding workshops and teaching courses on how to build a business in Music Licensing. She also holds workshops for women to help them face fears, find their self worth, passions and achieve their dreams.

Michelle’s music and Indie/Alternative Folk sound is influenced by Alvvays, Warpaint, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Hope Sandoval, London Grammar, Lykke Li, The XX, Daughter, Ingrid Michaelson, Sheryl Crow, Tristan Prettyman, Meiko, Birdy, The Lumineers, The Head and The Heart, The Civil Wars, Colbie Caillat, and Oh Honey.

The 6th annual Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards Concert returns on Friday, March 13. Join the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District for a fun evening of live music by the songwriters who are vying for the 2020 Grand Prize. Five regional songwriters will perform their original music as they compete for the $10,000 Award. Three young songwriters will also each perform an original song; one will win the $2,500 Young Songwriter Prize.
