Cooking for Peace Workshop @ Meditation Museum

We all know the phrase you are what you eat but we usually just think of the physical effects of food on our health. Food influences our mental, spiritual and physical well-being, and the societies in which we live.

Join us and learn how food choices and food preparation affect our emotions, integrity and health and the ethical impact on animals and the environment. Workshop includes a discussion and vegan food preparation. Come learn and taste with us.

Saturday, September 21, 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM. Meditation Museum, 9525 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. Free event – Contributions Appreciated. RSVP at https://bit.ly/2k5c3QM.

How to Read the Constitution and Why...A Talk & Book Signing w/ Kim Wehle @ Meditation Museum

The Constitution is the most significant document in America. But do you fully understand what this valuable document means to you? Join us as legal expert and educator Kimberly Wehle spells out what is in the Constitution, what it means, and the protections guaranteed by the Constitution.

Sister Jenna, Director of the Meditation Museums and Host of the America Meditating Radio Show will interview Kim and invite questions from the audience. A book signing will follow the talk.

Kim Wehle is an author, lawyer, media commentator, and tenured Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She was an Associate Independent Counsel in the Whitewater Investigation under Kenneth Starr and an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. She has been teaching and writing about separation of powers doctrine in academic journals for over 10 years. Currently, she is a legal analyst for CBS News and the BBC. Kim has practiced law – in addition to teaching – for over 25 years, including in the U.S. Supreme Court.

High Five: nailsaloon’s Anniversary Celebration! @ nailsaloon

nailsaloon is celebrating five years of non-toxic nail care goodness! High Five!
We’re inviting our incredible nailsaloon family to join us in celebrating this milestone by giving back. Come to our Logan Circle location to give us a high five for our fifth year, and enjoy an evening pamper party! Get a mani or a pedi while a DJ spins tunes, and relish in conversation, cocktails and light bites from local shops, all to benefit one of our favorite organizations: MentorPrize. MentorPrize excels at recruiting mentors for a wide range of mentees in the DC region who need emotional, academic or professional support. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to MentorPrize.
