Looking for a little adventure? Follow the clues as you hike around Cabin John Park to solve a new nature-themed puzzle each month.

This month, hunt for colorful eggs hidden along a trail through the woods. Exchange the eggs you find for a prize. Learn about the beautiful diversity of our native birds’ eggs through a special exhibit in our Program Room.

INSTRUCTIONS for this special edition of Hike & Seek: Due to the popularity of this program, you *must* be pre-registered; we cannot accept drop-ins. To help us manage crowds, please register for a specific time slot.

Natural surface trails are not stroller accessible. Severe weather cancels the program. Please register everyone in your group.

Join us for a family and dog friendly 5k run/walk. Every dollar goes directly to the Oral Cancer Foundation that raises and money for this awful disease. There will be raffle tickets sold on site for your chance to win autographed items from Caps/Wizards/Nationals, gift certificates to local hotels/restaurants, tickets to Nats/Caps game, teeth whitening, etc. Coffee and light fare will be available. Photobooth. Bathrooms on site. Playground close by. Come out and get those steps in for a GREAT cause. We can’t wait to see you!

Race for Hope DC, a 5K course in the nation’s capital, is a fun and inspiring way to join forces in the fight against brain tumors by raising funds for research. It is one of the largest fundraisers in the country benefiting the brain tumor community and the proceeds support the National Brain Tumor Society. Through generous gifts from individuals and company sponsorships, the Race for Hope DC has raised $33 million in its history. Join thousands of runners and walkers supporting the brain tumor community on May 3, 2020 by participating in the 23rd Annual Race for Hope DC at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC.

Registration Fees: Reduced fees for early 2020 registrants! Online Registration is $5 for children 5 and under, $35 for walkers and untimed runners and $40 for timed participants until February 29, 2020. Effective March 1, fees return to $40 for walkers and untimed runners and $45 for timed participants through April 27, 2020. Participants who register at packet pickup and on Race Day will be charged $50. Registration fees for children 5 and under will remain at $5.

We’re hiding hand-painted “kindness rocks” around the park for you to find. Kindness rocks are little hidden treasures intended to inspire people and bring them joy. They are fun to find and even more fun to paint and hide for others!

Check-in at the front desk any time between 2pm and 5pm for a few hints, and receive all the supplies you need to paint and hide your own rocks. Then take a hike on one of our beautiful trails to play a game of rock hide and seek.

The Walks to End Bladder Cancer are BCAN’s signature awareness events and take place in numerous cities throughout the United States, principally in May which is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month. Raising awareness about bladder cancer, the sixth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the US saves lives. Our walks also generate critical funds that enable BCAN to offer educational resources and support programs free of charge, advance research, serve more patients and families, and continue as the leading provider of bladder cancer services and information in the country.
