Maryland Capital Region VOICES Environmental Classes @ Virtual Classes
Oct 6 – Nov 17 all-day
Maryland Capital Region VOICES Environmental Classes @ Virtual Classes | | |

This year CBF’s adult education program, Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards, or VoiCeS, is going virtual! This is the first EVER watershed-wide VoiCeS program, but we’ll still have plenty of opportunities for you to learn all about issues impacting your own community.

The classes take place on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. from Oct. 6 to Nov. 17, with no class on Nov. 3. There is a $25 registration fee.

The course will include 1-2 hours of pre-recorded materials you can watch at your leisure each week. You will join weekly live online classes for overview of different topics and Q&A with the speakers on Tuesday nights. Some classes will be watershed wide and some will be just with your region. A field trip will be held for each region at a later date when we can safely gather.

In this professionally taught course, you will learn about

pollution problems and solutions,
local geography and ecology,
environmental justice,
Bay science and fisheries,
urban and rural pollution issues, and
how to play a personal role in restoration efforts in your community and the Bay watershed.
