Dr. Paymaan Christopher Tavakoli, born and raised in Potomac, MD, is honored to be voted as a top dentist in General Dentistry. Dr. Tavakoli believes that dentistry is the perfect blend of art, medicine and science which is one of the main reasons he pursued dentistry after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Neurobiology. Dr. Tavakoli then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at VCU followed by a year of residency training at Penn State St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Tavakoli strongly believes in establishing optimal dental health for his patients while saving teeth and restoring smiles that last a lifetime. His top priority is to provide each patient with stellar clinical expertise and compassion. With his passion for dentistry and attention to detail, Dr. Tavakoli motivates his patients to recognize the importance of dental health and help achieve their dental goals. In 2023, Dr. Tavakoli will be receiving his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry which recognizes doctors who are committed to the practice of dentistry and quality patient care, as evidenced by their ongoing involvement in continuing education. At Bethesda-Chevy Chase Smiles, Dr. Lakhani and her caring staff have taken the concept of a dental practice, applied modern innovation and a strong patient focus to create a truly unique dental care experience. They offer the basic hygiene, periodontal and restorative treatments you expect, as well as the contemporary aesthetic options you want. Dr. Lakhani has been changing smiles with Invisalign for almost 15 years and loves seeing the improvements patients can make. Dr. Saba Lakhani was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia and followed her father and sister’s footsteps to the University of Maryland, College Park for her Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology and Neurobiology. After graduation she interned at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research where she did research on salivary glands. Dr. Lakhani then completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Howard University College of Dentistry and followed this with a General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Lakhani has been in private practice in the D.C. and Bethesda area since 2006. She is committed to the D.C. Metropolitan area as she works and lives in Bethesda and enjoys the diversity of the area. Dr. Lakhani has a love for food and not only does she continue to try to refine her traditional Pakistani cuisine, but she also enjoys the Bethesda/D.C. restaurant scene. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking and hiking Rock Creek Park, traveling, and enjoying the many events Bethesda offers. Dr. Lakhani loves working with her hands inside and out of the office and often takes painting and other art classes around town. Dr. Lakhani enjoys continuously learning about dental education, research and advances. She has completed a number of continuing education classes and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. She is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists, the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association and the Southern Maryland Dental Society. Our office continues to adhere with the CDC guidelines set forth for COVID protocols, and goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of our patients. We use COVID pre-screenings, N-95 masks, face shields, air purifiers and we continue to fog rooms after each patient.
