Park After Dark

The third annual event to benefit the C&O Canal National Historical Park

| Published:

Guests gathered at the Historic Great Falls Tavern in Potomac on Saturday, September 28 for the annual Park After Dark fundraiser to support the C&O Canal National Historical Park.

The C&O Canal trust, the nonprofit partner of the Park, hosted the event.

Attendees enjoyed live music by Chester River Runoff and Cabin John Dixeland Band, great food, libations, live and silent auctions and a campfire.

Special appearances were made by Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and the Director of the National Park Service Jonathan Jarvis.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of public ownership of the C&O Canal. And to top it all off, September 28th was National Public Lands Day.
