How they met
They met on an online dating site. David made the first move by emailing Kara to introduce himself. After a few days of emailing and talking on the phone, the couple decided to meet in person.
First date
They went out to dinner at McCormick & Schmick's in downtown Bethesda. After a nice meal, they were not quite ready to say "goodnight," so they headed to a local bar and talked until the bar closed.
The proposal
It started as a normal morning at the couple's townhouse. David was making pancakes when the doorbell rang. He answered the door and it was a delivery of a dozen roses with a note that read "hoping you didn't say no." When Kara asked who was at the door, David replied, "Oh, it was for the wrong house." He then quickly staked the pancakes and set the table. As Kara walked toward the table, she saw something shiny on top of the pancake stack. David then asked her to marry him.
