19th Annual Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run

The event drew over 1,300 runners on Saturday, September 1

The 19th Annual Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run, Walk & Kids Fun Runs drew more than 1,300 runner plus 300 kids for the fun runs Saturday, September 1. About 1,000 more gathered to cheer on the runners, catch some live music along the race course and visit the post-race expo.

The top male finisher was Seife Geletu, 30, from Washington, D.C. with a time of 15:14. The top female finisher was Anna Holt-Gosselin, 24, from Vienna, Va. with a time of 17:40.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Kentlands Community Foundation’s programs along with the Delores Swoyer Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, the Dwelling Place and the Maryland Senior Olympics. To date the race has donated more than $100,000 to the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.
