Bride & Groom

The bride, Jessica, grew up on the Eastern Shore while the groom, Christopher grew up in Rockville and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

The Wedding

July 13, 2013. The wedding and reception took place at The Oaks Waterfront Inn and Events located in Royal Oak, MD.

How they met

Officially, at a 2006 Halloween party hosted by Jess and her roommates. Unofficially, Chris recalls meeting Jess while they were both in college at the University of Maryland during a brief on-campus encounter with a mutual friend.

First date

A trip to the International Spy Museum in DC, followed by dinner in Bethesda. Jess really impressed Chris when she insisted on eating street vendor hot dogs for lunch before heading to the museum, not knowing he also had a soft spot for street food.

The proposal

Chris proposed in their Fells Point apartment after having dinner at their favorite Baltimore restaurant. Since then they have moved to a house in Olney.

Favorite Moment of the Day

Chris’ favorite was seeing Jess walk down the aisle. Jess's favorite moment was being introduced as “Mr. and Mrs. Wack” to cheers from all their family and friends at the reception.

Favorite Detail

For Chris, it was definitely the raw bar at the cocktail hour. Jess had a difficult time picking just one favorite detail, but said it would probably be all the delicious Smith Island cakes.
