7th Annual HERA Climb4Life Metro DC
Event Raises More Than $23,000 for Ovarian Cancer Research and Awareness
More than 90 people joined the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation July 13-15 for the 7th annual Climb4Life Metro DC.
The event brought women, men, ovarian cancer survivors, their families and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels together to rock climb and hike to raise more than $23,000 for ovarian cancer research and awareness.
After a day of climbing and hiking at Carderock, participants enjoyed the celebration dinner at Glenview Manor in Rockville featuring a silent auction and awards to the top fundraisers.
Climb4Life was conceived in 2001 while HERA Founder, Sean Patrick, was recovering from her seventh ovarian cancer surgery. “The skills women learn in climbing – problem solving, risk taking and confidence in their decision making – will enable them to climb all the mountains in their lives,” Ms. Patrick said.
