After 19 years as head of the Bethesda Urban Partnership (BUP), Dave Dabney said goodbye to the community last night.
More than 100 people gathered to honor Dabney at a retirement party held in the showroom of Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda. Prior to joining BUP, Dabney worked at Chevy Chase Cars for 25 years.
At the event, local officials and dignitaries praised Dabney for his leadership and vision. Emil Wolanin, deputy director of the county’s Department of Transportation, gave Dabney a street sign for “Dabney Lane,” and Jeff Burton, Dabney’s longtime deputy at BUP, gave an emotional speech thanking his boss for their years together.
