Alice and Kevin Grear
Married on June 8, 2013 in Bethesda
Bride and Groom
The bride, Alice, grew up in North Bethesda graduating from Walter Johnson High School and the groom, Kevin, is from Columbia, Maryland.
How they met
Kevin and Alice met while both competing in the sport of acrobatic gymnastics. They both competed for different teams but came together on a trip to the Acrobatic National Championships in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2009.
Kevin and I rented a boat at Fletcher’s Cove and paddled up and down the Potomac River while getting to know each other. We followed with dinner at Clyde’s in Georgetown.
Kevin proposed in their home in Rockville. Alice loves to scrapbook and he surprised her with a page in her scrapbook that said "Will you marry me?".
Number of people who attended
The cake topper which reflects the couple performing “The Star”, an acrobatic pose that they took a photo of everywhere they traveled together. It has become their signature pose!
Favorite moment of the day
Driving from the ceremony to the reception in the 1931 Model A, driven by the Father of the Groom. It was a gorgeous day and they were able to sit in the rumble seat in the back while cars honked and people shouted congratulations.
