Folklore Society of Greater Washington Mid-Winter Festival—Saturday—Takoma Park Middle School
Takoma Park Middle School will be transformed into a festival site with dance floors, a storytelling room and workshops. There will be crafts for sale. The festival runs noon to 6 p.m. Adult non-member tickets are $23.

An Evening with Tom Wilson—Saturday—Sport Chevrolet, Silver Spring
Fans can meet the Washington Capitals right winger Saturday at 2 p.m. Event organizers recommend early arrival; ticketing begins at 12 p.m. There will be giveaways and Wilson will be signing autographs.

Chopin: Recollections of Home—Saturday night—The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda
The National Philharmonic will host a Frédéric Chopin recital Saturday at 8 p.m. The concert features pianist Brian Ganz and Polish mezzo-soprano Magdalena Wór. Tickets are $34.

Marcus Johnson: A Journey in Jazz from Straight to Smooth—Saturday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
Howard University graduate and contemporary jazz pianist Marcus Johnson will perform with his Urban Jam Band at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets start at $25.

The Flag-chip Pairing—Sunday—Denizens Brewing Co., Silver Spring
The Silver Spring brewery will host a beer and chip pairing party for Super Bowl Sunday. All chips will be made in house, and will come with a flight of four beers. The event will run 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
