Weekend Events: Seussical; Wine Tasting in Layhill; Battery Lane Park Reopening
What’s happening Nov. 8 through 10
Seussical — Rockville — Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Rockville Musical Theatre presents “Seussical” — a production in which characters from many of Dr. Seuss’s works “collide and cavort.” The performance takes place at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s show is at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $25 for adults. There is a $2 discount for students and senior citizens at least 62 years old. Click here for more information.
Wine tasting — Layhill — Friday
Bel Pre Fine Wine in Layhill is hosting a wine tasting with expert David Markowitz that includes pizza. Attendees will learn about how certain wines were made and what foods to pair them with.
The event is free to attend and runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
Battery Lane Urban Park reopening — Bethesda — Saturday
Battery Lane Urban Park celebrates its reopening with a ribbon cutting, games and refreshments. The park was recently renovated with a new 5,500-square-foot playground, new benches and a fitness station, among other features.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Video game theme music concert — Silver Spring — Sunday
The Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra plays music from the soon-to-be-released video game “Kharon’s Crypt” and selections from other video games. The performance is at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center, on the Silver Spring campus.
Tickets are $12 online and $15 at the door. Students and seniors at least 65 years old pay $9. Visit https://wmgso.org/events for more information.
