Gaithersburg Book Festival – Saturday – City Hall, Old Town

More than 100 featured best-selling and award-winning authors – including Ben Bradlee Jr., Gennifer Choldenko, Dhionelle Clayton, Alan Gratz , Anne Hillerman, Bob Levey, Jessica Long, Elinor Lipman, Gary Schmidt, Etan Thomas, Jeff Zentner and more – will participate in panel discussions and book signings.  Free, interactive writing workshops, a Children’s Village, literary exhibitors, the Brew and Vine Cafe featuring live entertainment, and onsite book sales by Politics & Prose. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free. Historic Chevy Chase Garden Tour – Saturday – Chevy Chase

Annual Garden Club of Chevy Chase tour of eight private gardens and opportunities to meet landscape designers, plants for sale. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets $30 in advance, $40 on day of tour. Tour begins at 1 Quincy St., Chevy Chase. Information and tickets online.

Taste The World in Fenton Village Festival – Sunday – Silver Spring

Ninth anniversary of Fenton Village festival featuring music, vendors and a restaurant crawl. The Silver Spring neighborhood has some 200 shops and restaurants. 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More information online.
