A mix of snow and other winter precipitation is expected to start Wednesday evening and last through Saturday in Montgomery County and the greater Washington region, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service’s forecast for the greater Washington, D.C., area says a winter weather advisory takes effect at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Snow is expected to start in the evening, with a possibility of sleet after midnight. About 1 to 3 inches of snow could accumulate by Thursday morning, according to the forecast.
More snow is expected on Thursday before 1 p.m., with accumulation projections at 1 inch or less during that period.
On Saturday, snow is expected throughout the day, with the possibility of a mix of freezing rain in the evening.
