School board to discuss policies, academic calendar on Tuesday
The Montgomery County Board of Education is scheduled on Tuesday to discuss several potential policy changes and continue its conversation about the 2020-21 academic calendar.
Up for discussion and possible action include changes to the school district’s school transfer policy. A school board committee has met several times to discuss the policy, which outlines under what circumstances a student may transfer to a county school different than the one they would attend based on school boundaries.
The board will also discuss a possible change to its policy that mandates that all schools be closed on Inauguration Day.
Separately, the board will continue discussions about the next school year’s academic calendar. Three potential calendar scenarios were released as drafts to receive public feedback in October.
