UPDATED: Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Southern Rockville Area

Police said the body was found near the intersection of Parklawn Drive and Randolph Road Monday morning

UPDATED – 4:45 p.m. Tuesday – A woman’s body was found by a passerby around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning in a parking lot near the Rockville and North Bethesda line, and police are currently investigating her death.

On Tuesday afternoon, police identified the woman as Lori Denise Detwiler, 55, of Millsboro, Delaware using fingerprint analysis.

Police said the Detwiler was found near the fence line in the 12300 block of Parklawn Drive near the intersection of Randolph Road. The parking lot borders an apartment community and residents commonly travel from the community through the parking lot to reach the Twinbrook Metro, police said.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and that toxicology results are forthcoming.

There was no apparent trauma to Detwiler’s body, police said.
