A woman is in serious condition after she was removed from a pool in Gaithersburg, according to a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue official.

Around 5 p.m., Fire & Rescue crews were called to the Montgomery Meadows residential community pool at 1077 Travis Lane, Fire & Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer posted on Twitter.

A woman was in the water exercising in four feet of water with lifeguards and a bystander present, Piringer told Bethesda Beat Monday evening.

“They were observed exercising in the water and then moments later they were face down and immediately pulled and resuscitation was begun,” he said.

The woman was taken to the hospital and was listed as priority 1, which is the most serious condition. Piringer was not sure of the latest as of Tuesday morning.

A Montgomery County police spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
