Two men shot, one fatally, near Maryland-D.C. line
Injured man found in Montgomery County, taken to hospital
Two people were shot — including one man who died — on Thursday evening near the D.C.-Maryland line, police said.
Police wrote on Twitter Thursday that there was a shooting investigation in the 4500 block of Western Avenue in Friendship Heights and that they were looking for a man in his 20s or 30s wearing all black.
The area is along the Maryland-D.C. border.
Sean Hickman, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, wrote in an email that officers got a call for a shooting in the area around 7:39 p.m. When they got to the scene, they found a man unconscious and not breathing. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, Hickman wrote.
Another man who was shot was found in Montgomery County and taken to a hospital, Hickman wrote.
He wrote that the investigation is ongoing and the department’s Homicide Branch is involved.
Officer Rick Goodale, a Montgomery County police spokesman, wrote in an email that D.C. police are handling the investigation.
