Two killed in Aspen Hill crash

Vehicle crashed into multiple parked cars, Fire & Rescue spokesman says

A crash in Aspen Hill on Friday killed two people, according to a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesman.

A vehicle crashed into multiple parked cars on Hatteras Way around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Fire & Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer posted on Twitter.

Martha Luise Ross, 78, and Joan Williams Jenkins, 91, both of the 3200 block of North Leisure World Boulevard, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from Montgomery County Police. 

The driver was identified as Karl Neil Ross, 86, of the 3200 block of North Leisure World Boulevard. He is being treated for severe injuries at a local hospital, the release stated.

Police are still investigating why the car crashed. Ross was driving a Toyota 2018 Avalon  east on Park Vista Drive toward Hatteras Way when he struck a parked car. The Avalon then caught on fire.
