A man who apparently fatally shot his 89-year-old father Saturday afternoon in Rockville before turning the gun on himself has died, Montgomery County police announced Wednesday night.

Thomas “Greg” Willey, 67, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night at a local hospital, where he was taken after police found him suffering from a gunshot wound along with his deceased father, Thomas Willey, in a parked Toyota Prius. The car was parked in a Park and Ride parking lot on the west side of Norbeck Road in Rockville.

Greg Willey was found in the driver’s seat of the Prius and Thomas Willey was found in the front passenger seat. The father and son lived together at Leisure World, a nearby senior living community, according to police.

Detectives from the major Crimes Division continue to investigate the incident. A note believed to have been left by Greg Willey was recovered inside the Prius along with a handgun, police have reported.
