Skeletal Remains Found in Rockville

Montgomery County police are investigating skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Rockville on Tuesday.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 4, Montgomery County officers responded to an area near Shady Grove Road and Procera Drive where someone walking his dog had discovered the remains. Investigators determined the bones to be human and they were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Office in Baltimore.

An autopsy will be conducted in an attempt to determine the sex of the decedent, as well as the manner and cause of death. Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the remains, which were found with a blue sweatshirt, black or green San Antonio Spurs ball cap and blue and white size 11 Asics GEL-Kayano sneakers.
