Shots fired during attempted carjacking in Rockville, police say

No one was injured; county police investigating

Shots were fired during an attempted carjacking in Rockville’s King Farm community Tuesday night, according to Rockville police.

Police were called to the intersection of Gaither Road and Piccard Drive around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday for the report of an attempted carjacking with shots fired, police spokeswoman Andrea Escher wrote in an email to Bethesda Beat Wednesday.

The shots were allegedly fired in the 800 block of Royal Crescent, adjacent to the intersection, she wrote. No one was injured.

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
