Rockville Public Works Employee Dies from Injuries in October Crash

Man was riding on back of city garbage truck

A Rockville Department of Public Works employee has died after a mid-October crash.

On the morning of Oct. 17, Jesse Freeman, 45, was riding on the back of a city-owned garbage truck on Ardennes Avenue. Freeman was thrown from the truck and died on Oct. 28, according to a county police news release on Friday.

The release did not say what Freeman’s injuries were or why his death was not announced until Friday.

The driver of the truck, 51-year-old David Cole, was not injured.
In its news release, police said the crash remains under investigation.
