Police Seek Help in Finding Silver Spring Sisters

Parents last saw girls, ages 11 and 16, late Saturday night

Montgomery County detectives are asking the public’s help in finding two sisters who went missing from their Silver Spring home sometime after 11 p.m. Saturday.

Eleven-year-old Kandyce and 16-year-old Karmen Matos were last seen by their parents at their home on Hunters Gate Court. Their parents discovered the sisters were no longer home when they checked the girls’ bedroom at 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a police statement released Tuesday.

Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division, who are investigating, believe the sisters are together. The girls are known to frequent Westfield Wheaton Mall at 11160 Veirs Mill Road; the Bel Pre area in Montgomery County; Washington, D.C.; and Prince George’s County.

According to police, Kandyce is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 137 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Karmen is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
