Police looking for man accused of killing his girlfriend

Woman’s body found in Aspen Hill

An Aspen Hill man accused of killing his girlfriend at their home last weekend has not been found, Montgomery County police said Tuesday.

Police are asking the public for information that will help them find them Juan Emilio Guzman-Contreras, 29.

Guzman-Contreras is accused of killing his girlfriend, Claudia Areli Gonzalez, 28, police said in a press release Tuesday. Both lived in the 3800 block of Bel Pre Road, police said.

Officers got a call for a body found in the 3800 block of Bel Pre Road just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, police said. Police said Gonzalez had trauma to her upper body.

Gonzalez’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, which determined that her death was a homicide, police said.

Police issued a warrant charging Guzman-Contreras with first-degree murder.

Police have asked anyone with information about the case to call them at 301-279-8000.
