Montgomery County police are investigating shots fired in a Germantown neighborhood this month. Home surveillance footage shows multiple people shooting.

Police said they think the shots were fired around 1:45 a.m. on June 5 in the area of Mill Pond Terrace and Mill Pond Court, police said in a press release on Wednesday.

A resident told officers that he heard gunshots early that morning. Police found shell casings and damage to multiples and vehicles.

Police said on Wednesday that they don’t think anyone was struck by the gunfire.

One resident gave officers home surveillance footage that shows multiple people firing in a street lined with parked cars at night. At least seven shots can be heard in the video, some of which are in quick succession.

People can be seen in the video running in all directions. It appears one person is fleeing from a shooter down the street, toward the end of the video.

Police released the video on Wednesday. They are asking homeowners to review any surveillance footage they might have and contact investigators if they find anything relevant. Anyone with information is asked to call 5th District investigators at 240-773-6245.
