A man stole money from the Old Line Bank in Rockville Wednesday morning, according to Montgomery County police.

Officer Rick Goodale, a police spokesman, said in an interview Wednesday that the man entered the bank at 1801 Rockville Pike around 10 a.m. Wednesday and handed the clerk a threatening note.

“In the note, it implied that he was armed with a weapon and demanded cash,” Goodale said.

Goodale said the clerk complied, and the man fled north on Rockville Pike on a gray bike. He declined to say how much money was stolen because he did not want to provide any incentive for other criminals.

The man appeared to be in his 30s and was wearing a Washington Redskins sweatshirt when he stole the money, according to surveillance video, Goodale said. He said officers found the sweatshirt a couple of blocks north of the bank.

Representatives from the bank declined to comment Wednesday.
